Enjoy! Please email [email protected] 2021 ROUND UPWINTER SEASON RE-CAP // SEPTEMBER 2021Wow! What an amazing 2021 Winter season we have had! The season started with a whopping 117 excited players, eager to hit the courts and play their best. The season started, sunny but quickly turned to some very wet weekends! The kids were way tougher than us adults though, and showed their commitment and amazing attitudes throughout the season.
We had several of our junior members start their umpiring journey through the WDNA Green Shirt umpiring program, one graduating to a C-badge umpire. All of the girls did an amazing job! Well done! Four MDNC members and our president represented at the Fuel to GO & Play Association Championships. Beck, Imogen Richardson and Portia Le Quesne all walked away with a grand final win. MDNC also played in a few carnivals this year, some likely walked away with PTSD due to the weather. Gingin was very cold and wet, but it was amazing to see so many smiling faces and teams bonding. Congratulations to Mindarie 6 and 12 who walked away with grand final wins. We had three teams participate in the June/July Bouncer tournament and all walked away with Grand Final wins. Seven teams entered into the Warriors Cup. We thought the Gingin weather was bad, boy were we wrong! There was strong winds, there was hail, a very large tree was even up-rooted in the car park! But all teams were still smiling and having fun all of the way through. Teams Mindarie 13, 6 and 4 all finished the day in first position. We had A LOT of fun stuff too! We had fundraising events such as the Bunnings sausage sizzle, and our very successful Krispy Kreme doughnut day. MDNC ran their first school holiday clinic, opening it up to the community. Over the two days there was some amazing times had, and it was great hearing the kids laugh while learning some new skills. Our greatest achievement was to have all of our eligible teams make the finals this year. Only one team made it to the last game of the season and those Sixers fought hard! The club were behind them and cheered them all the way. Sixers we were super proud of your achievements this season! So much more happened in this action packed season! We leave winter behind us now and head into some warmer months! The Spring/Summer season will start on the 16th October and will be as fun and exciting as the last! |
